Fasting is a method in which people eliminate all foods and drinks from their diet for a specific period. People fast to clean their digestive systems, to lose weight and, in some cases, for spiritual or religious purposes.
In my case, I will fast to clean my digestive system, reduce to normalize my weight, and get closer to my higher self. I have been contemplating the idea of fasting for the past few weeks, and the more I think about it, the more feasible it seems.
My goal is to fast for one week. I will be drinking water only. I have attempted fasting before, but the most I did was 2 days, and ate in the evening of the 3rd day.
I have failed at a few other such challenges in the past. Learning from those experiences, here is my strategy for succeeding this time around:
- Journal my progress daily at 08:00 pm
- Sleep consistently on a regular schedule:
10 pm to 6 am + 1 pm to 3 pm
- Reduce my activities to: sleep, work, walk 1 hour, read, and write my book.
This will make for a great week. My selected time frame is:
Monday, July 31st to Sunday, August 6th (7 days). I will eat again on Monday morning, August 7th.
